Hijani Himoonde (born August 1, 1987 in Lusaka ) is a Zambian football player .

Career

In his youth, Himoonde played with Chimparamba and Lusaka Edusport and during this time won several medals at the Gothia Cup . In 2006 he came to the first division club Lusaka Dynamos and was used there regularly at the age of 18.

In November 2006, Himonde Himoonde was appointed to the Zambian national team for the first time . He made his debut in the preliminary round of the CECAFA Cup against Burundi. In January 2007 he was nominated to the U-20 Zambia for the U-20 African Championship . After starting the tournament as a regular player, he lost his place in the team after the first game against Nigeria, in which he showed a poor performance. He was not used for the rest of the tournament and was not nominated for the 2007 U-20 World Cup .

In July 2007 he took part in the Pan-African Games with the U-23 and reached fourth place with the team. At the end of December 2007 he was nominated by coach Patrick Phiri for the Africa Cup of 2008 in Ghana.
