Grant is a city and seat of the county seat of Perkins County in the US state of Nebraska .
history
After the place was founded in 1886, a short time later the entire city had to be moved approx. 1 km in a southerly direction in order to get a connection to the railway network. When Perkins County was established in 1887, Grant was elected the county seat.
geography
Grant is located in southwest Nebraska about 30 km south of Interstate 80 . It has access to Nebraska State Highways 23 and 61 . The border with Colorado is approximately 28 km west of the city.

According to the United States Census 2000 , Grant has 1,225 residents, including 568 men and 657 women.
