Hilbert Shirey (* 1947 or 1948 ) is a professional American poker player . He is nicknamed Hill Street and triple bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .
Poker career
Career
Shirey is from Winter Haven , Florida and still lives there today. Since 1986 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments .
In May 1987 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas and won a bracelet and a total of almost 200,000 US dollars in prize money from two tournaments. At the main event of the 1991 WSOP , he just missed the final table and finished in seventh place. In 1995 , he won two more bracelets and $ 300,000 in prize money on two consecutive days . Shirey secured his biggest prize money to date in January 2009 at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour , where he finished fourth for around $ 185,000.
In total, Shirey has made more than $ 1.5 million in poker playing live tournaments.
