Hilde Engel-Elstner

Hilde Engel-Elstner (born December 12, 1908 in Berlin as Hilde Engel , † July 4, 1965 ) was a German dancer and actress .

Life

Engel, who came from a middle-class Berlin family, was a trained dancer. At the beginning of her career she had worked as a soloist a. a. Engagements in Berlin and Paris . Before the Second World War, she was engaged at the Brno City Theater together with her husband, the former operetta buffo, actor and director Erich Elstner . She also appeared at the Brno Kammerspiele.

After the Second World War she worked as an actress, acting teacher and ballet master in Berlin; in addition, she directed a ballet in Berlin. Lutz Jahoda (already in Brno and later in Berlin) and her son Frank Elstner (1963–1965) were among her drama students . In the early 1950s she went to Baden-Baden with her husband , where she worked as a program announcer and radio play speaker for Südwestfunk . She also took part in some film and television productions for Südwestfunk.

Her marriage to Erich Elstner resulted in four children, including two sons.
