Hilde Sinapius

Hilde Sinapius (formerly Lehmann-Sinapius, * 1929 in Bremen ) is a German painter and poet . She is co-founder of the artists' association “Landhaus Gruppe Köln”.

Life

Sinapius attended the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and studied painting with Willi Breest from 1950 to 1951. From 1951 to 1954 she attended the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and studied painting with Hermann Sohn and Willi Baumeister . In addition, Hilde Sinapius studied history at the University of Freiburg in 1954/1955 .

Since 1956, Hilde Sinapius has devoted herself to painting and presented her pictures in group and solo exhibitions. The artist not only sees things in her environment as purely externally perceptible objects, but tries to capture the associations connected with them. A central theme of her works from 1977 to 1999 is the city as a living space. On this subject was u. a. an exhibition in the series "Art in the Presidential Office" initiated and organized by Professor of Fine Arts and Art Education at Saarland University , Karl-Otto Jung . Furthermore, graphs by Hilde Sinapius were introduced on various occasions, such as in text unfoldings "- semiotic experiments with a biblical story" by Professor Alex Stock.

As a poet, Hilde Sinapius was a member of the Rhein-Erft group of authors and is represented in the anthology and other publications under the title “Transitions 20” published by Book on Demand .

From 1956 to 2000, Hilde Sinapius was an active member of GEDOK Cologne. Together with other artists, she founded the artists' association “Landhaus Gruppe Köln” (1971–1990) in 1971. All works of the artists' association were made available to the Cologne city archive on request in 1991 .

From 1956 to 1990 she also took part in the exhibitions of the Federal Association of Visual Artists (BBK).

Together with her husband, the painter Werner Sinapius , she has studios in Königsdorf near Cologne, in Valais / Switzerland, in County Mayo / Ireland and in Lekow Castle (Poland). The building in Königsdorf specially designed as a studio house by Joachim Schürmann can be seen in the book "Schürmann - Drafts and Buildings".
