Hilde Stock-Sylvester

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hilde Stock-Sylvester (born September 29, 1914 in Hanover ; † February 11, 2006 in Bonn ) was a German painter .

Life

Hilde Stock-Sylvester was born on September 29, 1914 in Hanover as the first child of Albert Max Sylvester and Julie Sylvester, née Uhe. Sister Gerda followed in 1917, who also followed an artistic path.

Hilde Stock-Sylvester studied at the Hanover School of Applied Arts with Georg Kindermann and Fritz Burger-Mühlfeld until 1935 . Thanks to several honorary certificates and her final exam, the young graduate in 1936 became head of the women's workshop class at the Flensburg School of Applied Arts .

In 1953 she went to Bonn with her husband Heinz Stock, where she devoted herself entirely to painting. She became a member of the GEDOK (from 1960) and the BBK (from 1962). She took part in numerous group exhibitions at home and abroad and in solo exhibitions. In 1956 she switched to abstract painting and in 1981 developed her “ encaustic secret recipe”. Through the use of the liquid wax colors, her pictures develop a luminosity that is typical for her painting from then on.

"Schematic bridges, light-penetrated windows, shadowy outlines or prints, geometric formulas, intricate games with foregrounds, backgrounds and abysses, perspective breaks, lyrical or dramatized changes between transparent veils of color and opaque passages, ciphers and written quotations determine the carefully composed picture architectures Hilde Stock- New Year's Eve. "

Hilde Stock-Sylvester died on February 11, 2006 in Bonn at the age of 91.
