Hilde Umdasch

Hilde Umdasch (born January 2, 1943 in Amstetten , Lower Austria) is an Austrian businesswoman.

Life

In 1967 she started working for her parents' company Umdasch , a wood processing company based in Amstetten in Lower Austria. The company is divided into two areas, the Doka Group , which is represented in 70 countries, and the shop fitting. The company was founded in 1868 as a carpenter's workshop and is now a public limited company . Due to its successful development, the company has repeatedly received awards for its ideas.

After the death of her father Josef Umdasch, she took over the management of the board of directors in 1990 and thus became one of the first women to head a global corporation. After studying linguistics, she got to know all areas of the company as her father's assistant. With her brother Alfred and director Ernst Röck, the Umdasch company expanded rapidly until the decision was made by the committee to leave the management to external management and to move to the supervisory board.

In 1972 Hilde Umdasch founded the Bellaflora garden center chain . The company paid for itself quickly and today has sales of 87 million euros.

In the social sector, Hilde Umdasch is particularly involved in the areas of health, environmental protection and education. As the winner of the Pegasus , she supports projects that integrate conventional medicine and alternative treatment methods.
