history

The village was first mentioned in a document as "Hintbach" on May 28, 1057.

Excavations and barrows in the forest show, however, that the area was settled between 500 and 800 AD.

From 1874 to 1972 Himbach was part of the Büdingen district .

On December 31, 1971, Himbach was incorporated into the new Limeshain community.

In the place there is

  • a primary school
  • a daycare center
  • an event hall, the Limeshalle
  • the beautiful town hall and school building, which is used today for weddings in the Limeshain community.
