The Hinode Peak ( Japanese 日 の 出山 Hinode-yama , German for 'mountain of the sunrise' ) is a 120 m high mountain on the Crown Prince Olav coast in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 5 km southwest of Cape Hinode .
Aerial photographs and measurements by a Japanese Antarctic expedition carried out from 1957 to 1962 were used to map it. The American Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Japanese name into English in 1975.
