Hiram is a municipality ( village ) in Portage County in the US state of Ohio . It was after the Phoenician King I. Hiram named. In 2000 Hiram had 1242 inhabitants.

Hiram is in northeast Ohio. According to the United States Census Bureau , the total area is 2.4 km² of land.
Demographics
According to the 2000 census , there were 1242 people in 234 households and 148 families in the municipality. The population density was 517.5 per km². There were 249 housing units at an average density of 103.8 per km². 91.2% white people, 5.4% Afro-American, 1.4% Asian, 0.4% people of other origins and 1.5% with two or more origins lived here. Hispanics and Latinos made up 1.6% of the population.
13.0% were under 18 years of age, 39.5% were between 18 and 20, 43.1% were between 21 and 61, 0.7% were between 62 and 64 and 3.7% were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 20.8 years.
