Hirsch Hildesheimer (* 1855 in Eisenstadt ; † December 6, 1910 in Berlin ) was a Jewish scholar, lecturer, writer and activist against the prohibition of the Schechita who was active in the second half of the 19th century .

Life

From 1880, Hirsch Hildesheimer was a lecturer in Jewish history and geography at the Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin for Orthodox Judaism , which was founded by his father Esriel Hildesheimer in 1873.

From 1883 he ran the Berlin weekly newspaper Die Jewish Presse , initially together with his father . Organ for the general interests of Judaism (orthodox).
