The histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC 4) is an enzyme , the acetylation of histones removed and thus, inter alia, on the condensation of the chromatin and to the differentiation is involved by certain cells.

properties

The HDAC4 in turn can be modified by phosphorylation , sumoylation , carbonylation, ubiquitination and proteolysis . HDAC 4 is a class II histone deacetylase (HDAC / acuc / apha family). HDAC 4 is recruited close to the DNA by binding to the transcription factors MEF2C and MEF2D . HDAC binds to the protein complex of RbAp48 and HDAC3 . HDAC4 is necessary for the differentiation of myofibroblasts by TGFbeta1 . HDAC 4 is involved in the development of muscles and bones .
