Current structures

Left youth ['solid]

The Linksjugend ['solid] is the youth association that has existed since May 20, 2007 and was formed from the members of [' solid] , the WASG youth structures, the student association Die Linke.SDS and the Junge Linken.PDS . As the legal successor to ['solid], he is a member of district and state youth associations and partly a member of state and district structures of the ring of political youth . The Left Youth ['solid] is the only youth association of the Left Party. The association has been recognized as its youth organization since the party congress of Die Linke in 2007.

Die Linke.SDS

On May 5, 2007, some university groups close to the WASG and the Left Party merged at the federal level to form the university association Die Linke.SDS . According to the statutes, the association is a working group with special status in the left-wing youth Solid.

34 university groups were involved in the founding process. A ten-member federal board was elected at the founding congress in Frankfurt am Main in May . The founding of a university association of the party Die Linke was thus completed. At some universities , the local university groups of the association are running as lists in the elections to the student parliament . The student association has its own semester newspaper (critica) , which is distributed nationwide with a circulation of 155,000.

The name of the university association has been controversial since it was founded. On the one hand, the university association should express the historical ties to the SDS and, on the other hand, emphasize its closeness to the Left Party . The SDS in the name stands for Socialist Democratic Student Association . The Linke.SDS is a working group of the left youth ['solid].

Historical structures

['solid] - the socialist youth

['solid] - the socialist youth was from 1999 to 2007 the youth association of the Left Party.PDS recognized at the federal level. He was recognized by several regional associations of the WASG and was a member of district and state youth associations and partially a member of state and district structures of the ring of political youth.

Working group of young comrades

The Working Group Young Comrades (AGJG) was the youth organization of the PDS from 1990 to 1999. The AGJG was founded by numerous today prominent members, such as the parliamentary group leader Dietmar Bartsch , the later Bundestag member Angela Marquardt and the PDS activist Halina Wawzyniak . In Saxony-Anhalt, the AGJG was the umbrella organization for all youth structures of the party until the merger in 2007.

RED (z) cheeky

The state youth association ROT (z) cheeky was founded on August 8th and 9th, 1998 in Markgrafenheide as a youth association of the PDS Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. He supported the establishment of the PDS-affiliated youth association ['solid] and joined the federal youth association as a state division for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at its second state members' meeting, which took place on September 4th and 5th, 1999 in Stralsund.

PDS Youth Saxony (Young Left, PDS Saxony)

The PDS-Jugend Sachsen was a loose network of very different youth structures in the Linkspartei.PDS in Saxony that had existed since 1992. The umbrella organization includes u. a. the Linxxnet project in Leipzig, the ['solid] -Landesverband Sachsen and numerous local independent groups. In the course of the merger with WASG , the PDS-Jugend Sachsen was renamed Junge Linke.PDS Sachsen. The Saxon organization put a stronger focus on liberal, emancipatory and anti-national issues and, for example, promotes the demand for the release of drugs or runs campaigns such as the one against national symbols for the 2006 soccer World Cup. The PDS youth brought Saxony initially alone, later together ['solid] Thuringia, the left youth magazine Neuroticker out.

PDS Youth Berlin-Brandenburg (Young Left, PDS Berlin-Brandenburg)

In addition to ['solid] , the PDS-Jugend Berlin-Brandenburg was founded in 2004 . The PDS-Jugend BB saw itself as an internal youth structure in the two federal states and emerged from a split of parts of the reform left-wing movement from the nationwide youth association ['solid]. In the course of the merger with WASG , the PDS-Jugend BB renamed itself to Junge Linke.PDS at the end of 2005 .

ju.li.th (Young Left Thuringia)

The youth network ju.li.th was a youth structure at PDS Thuringia from 1996 to 2004. After the early collapse of the AGJG in Thuringia, the network around Sabine Berninger and Mario Braun succeeded in loosely connecting the numerous local PDS youth groups. Ju.li.th had strong roots in the autonomous spectrum and even tried in 1999 to prevent the establishment of ['solid] Thuringia. ['solid] was not emancipatory with its association structure and marginalized parts of the left movement, was the accusation. Nevertheless, in 2000 ['solid] succeeded in being recognized nationwide as the second youth association alongside ju.li.th. The following years were marked by clashes between ['solid] groups, ju.li.th supporters and so-called “independents” at the state youth meetings and state party conferences. Little by little, ['solid] gained the support of more and more groups who joined the association - often while maintaining their traditional names and cultures.

On the other hand, ju.li.th came more and more into a marginal position. In the run-up to the state elections in 2004 ju.li.th officially dissolved and ['solid] Thuringia was accepted as the only nationwide youth structure with a new resolution.

WASG youth

The WASG youth, which was dominated by the SAV in some regions, was analogous to the Junge Linken.PDS, a youth structure of the WASG party that was only widespread in some federal states , in which some rejected ['solid] as "appendages" of the PDS and for a combative and open orientation stood. In several federal states ['solid] was a recognized youth association of the WASG. The WASG youth structures also included the WASGeht ?! youth association represented in Rhineland-Palatinate. Left youth in Rhineland-Palatinate and the Bavarian youth organization Links! WASGeht Bayern .

Whirlwind

The whirlwind e. V. emerged from the Young Comrades working group in Thuringia and focused more on pre-political and socio-cultural youth work. However, the recognized youth welfare agency had to disband at the end of 2004 due to errors in the settlement of SAM funding and the associated large financial burdens due to fines.
