The Historical Commission for Thuringia ( HKTh ) is a registered association of scientists who deal with the history of Thuringia . Its seat is in Erfurt , where it was founded in 1991 as a learned society in the Augustinian monastery. The office is located at the Historical Institute of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena . The work is supported by the state of Thuringia.
They organize the Days of Thuringian State History . They publish a series of publications by the Historical Commission for Thuringia (large and small series), sources and research on Thuringia in the age of the Reformation , contributions to the history of the Reformation in Thuringia and, with the Association for Thuringian History, the journal for Thuringian history . Her publications were published by Gustav Fischer Verlag and, from 2003, also by Böhlau Verlag.
The commission has been awarding the Friedrich Christian Lesser Prize annually since 2009 to associations that have made outstanding contributions to the history of Thuringia.
