The Shaanxi History Museum ( Chinese  陝西 歷史博物館  /  陕西 历史博物馆 , Pinyin Shănxī lìshǐ bówùguǎn , English Shaanxi History Museum ) is the largest and most important museum in Shaanxi Province and is one of the so-called "eight imposing museums in China" outside of Beijing . The museum was originally called "Shaanxi Provincial Museum" and has been redesigned since 1977. The current building was opened on July 20, 1991 and is considered a landmark of the old town of Xi'an . The museum houses over 370,000 exhibits spanning a period of over a million years.

This section deals with the Han , Western Wei, and Northern Zhou Dynasties ( 206 BC to 581 ).

From Tang to Qing times.
