Hitler's Reign of Terror (German: Hitler's reign of terror ) is considered the first anti-Nazi film. It was published in the USA in 1934. The 55-minute film was directed by Michael Mindlin , scriptwriter Edwin C. Hill , camera Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr. The film premiered on April 30, 1934 at the Mayfair Theater in New York City . In the interests of the good economic relations between the USA and the German Reich, the film was canceled in New York; in Chicago , under pressure from the German consul, the film was no longer shown at all.

The film contains material from original interviews and re-enacted interviews. The names of the actors in the re-enacted interviews have not yet been determined.

In 2013, the only known film roll of a copy made in 1939 was discovered in a Cinematek in Brussels and is to be shown again for the first time in October 2013.
