Hjulsjö is a settlement in central Sweden with less than fifty inhabitants. The place is located in the municipality of Hällefors , in the northwest of the historical province of Västmanland and in the province of Örebro län . Well-known places in the immediate vicinity are Hällefors (18 km), Grythyttan (28 km), Kopparberg (23 km), Nora (40 km) and Örebro (80 km). Stockholm is 270 km away.

The village center lies between the Kvisseln and the Hjulsjön - two fish-rich lakes. In the center there is a church that is painted with Falun red and covered with clapboards . This structure was built between 1642 and 1647 and was built in the typical Bergslagen style. The choir, the sacristy and a simple church hall were inaugurated in 1643. The building was enlarged in 1732, and the tower was added in 1785. Inside the church, the paintings on the pulpit are particularly worth seeing. They represent the four evangelists . Next to the staircase to the pulpit is the oldest painting in the church, which presumably depicts Christ.

In the vicinity of the village there is a 4 km long running track through the area, which is illuminated in the evening. Riksväg 63 and the Bredsjö – Grängen railway line run through Hulsjö . However, rail traffic has ceased and the tracks have been dismantled.
