Hobbersdorf is a village in the municipality of Ratekau in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein, south above the Schwartau river . It has 73 inhabitants (as of June 2005) and consists of an eastern settlement core and a group of houses located approx. 300 m further north-west. The Hobbersdorfer Mühle is a water mill on the Schwartau, which is operated by the Ströh company. The mill operation here goes back to the middle of the 16th century. The mill systems were previously leased to the respective millers by the cathedral chapter of Lübeck Cathedral as owners .

Weir system
  • In the middle of the village are the remains of the weir system in Hobbersdorf , which was first mentioned in 1360 and of which only the remains of a moat and a tower hill can be seen.

The name was derived from "Hobramdestorpe" - from "Hobrand" = "the proud".
