Hochheimer church piece

The northwest part of the Kirchenstück vineyard area borders directly on the historic Hochheimer old town

The Hochheimer Kirchenstück is a 15.4 hectare Rheingau vineyard . It is the major site Hochheimer Daubhaus in the wine-growing region Rheingau assigned and, with the west adjacent single location Hochheimer Domdechaney to the prime locations of the district Hochheim am Main in Main-Taunus-Kreis .

Like all Hochheimer vineyards, the vineyards of the Hochheimer Kirchenstück cover parts of the approximately 35-meter-high step above the Lower Main plain on the southern edge of the Main-Taunus foreland. They occupy the middle and steepest part of the terrain southeast of the old town of Hochheim and south of the building areas along Flörsheimer Straße and thus protected from cold winds from the north.

The soils consist alternately of well-rooted, sandy loess loam and heavy limestone. They provide good water and nutrient content for the vines to grow.
