The Hochkreuz, erected as a mission cross in 1882, stands in the cemetery southeast of Zoppenbroicher Straße / Kleinenbroicher Straße in a small open space.
architecture
It is a small shaft cross on a high, articulated and pillar-like base. Base plate and plinth block made of concrete , on top of which a multi-tiered and tapering structure made of sandstone with inscribed dating (1882). Strong, cornice-like roofing formed as a water hammer, which leads into a niche formation - on the front with a statue of the Virgin - and a three-pass closure; The gabled niches are flanked by pillars at the corners, the buttresses of which support the profiled shaft of the crucifix base.
The front gable is decorated with crabs and crowned by a finial . Polygonal shaft cross with body and inscription board. The object is worthy of protection for reasons of art history, location and social history and as part of the cemetery complex as a monument.
