The Hochleckenkogel is 1691 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the western Höllengebirge . Its summit, overgrown with mountain pines , descends with a steep NE flank into the rear Aurachkar. The entrance to the Hochlecken large cave is on this side . At the summit there is an old surveying stone with the inscription: Operatio Astronom. Trigon. 1811 on one side and KV Regnante Imperator Francisco Prim on the other . Its neighboring summit to the east is the somewhat higher, much better known Brunnkogel . A little over a kilometer to the west is the Hochleckenhaus of the Austrian Alpine Club .
