The Reinhardtsgrimma flood retention basin is a flood retention basin near Dippoldiswalde in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district in Saxony . The dam between Niederfrauendorf and Reinhardtsgrimma , also known as the "Niederfrauendorf Retention Basin", dams the Lockwitzbach when there is high water , but does not contain any permanent congestion, which means it is a "green" basin.

The dam is an earth dam with an inclined inner seal made of clay and a sealing curtain in the underground. During the flood in 2002 the basin was full and has almost reached its design water level at HQ 1000 .
