The Reutal flood retention basin , also called Reutalsee , is a reservoir in the Reutal near Niederstetten , Wildentierbach district , in the Main-Tauber district , Baden-Württemberg . An earth dam impounds Wildlife Bach and the Talbach , the outflow Wildlife Bach of the retention basin joins after less than half a kilometer with another stream to Reutalbach then the next larger village, Oberstetten the Tauber creek Vorbach drained.

The water board Kaiserstraße is responsible for the operation. In addition to flood protection, the flood retention basin also serves as a local recreation area. It was completed in 1980 and renovated in 2003. As a pilot project, a modern control system with data documentation was installed in the company building.
