Hod Lipson

Hod Lipson (* 1967 in Haifa ) is an American robotics researcher.
Life
Lipson studied mechanical engineering at the Technion from 1985 . After graduating with honors in 1989, he did his military service in the Israeli Navy . When he left in 1994, he had the rank of lieutenant captain and returned to the Technion, where he received his doctorate in 1998.
He then did research as a postdoc at Brandeis University and also taught at MIT. In 2001 he received a position as an assistant professor at Cornell University ; In 2008 he was promoted to associate professor and in 2015 to full professor . Shortly afterwards, however, he switched to a data science professorship at Columbia University , where he has since headed the Creative Machines Lab .
