Hof Marstadt is a residential area in the Lauda-Königshofener district of Messelhausen in the Main-Tauber district in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Hof Marstadt is located about one kilometer south-southeast of Messelhausen on the Messelhausen plateau . Other surrounding places are Oberbalbach after about 3 kilometers in the south and Deubach after about 2.5 kilometers in the southwest.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document as Morstat in 1058 . At that time the place was probably given as an old accessory from Königshofen by King Heinrich IV to a nobleman named Rupert. In 1260 the von Schüpf fiefdoms were sold to the Schöntal monastery by the von Oberbalbach family. Between 1320 and 1330 a Gerhard von Marstadt, later owned by the Würzburg St. Stephan monastery, is attested. Marstadt has had a history in common with Messelhausen since the end of the 14th century at the latest.

On the table sheet no. 6424 "Königshofen" from 1881 the place was listed as Marstadt with eight buildings.

As part of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg as part of the formerly independent municipality of Messelhausen, the residential space came to the city of Königshofen on January 1, 1972 together with Deubach and Sachsenflur. On January 1, 1975, the city of Königshofen Lauda merged with the city of Lauda and the community of Unterbalbach to form the city of Lauda-Königshofen. Other formerly independent communities were added.
