Hofhegnenberg is a district of the municipality of Steindorf in the Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg . The place is best known for the Hofhegnenberg Castle .
location
Hofhegnenberg is about one kilometer east of Steindorf in the Steinbach valley and on the adjacent western slope of the Roßberg. Hofhegnenberg Castle is located on the eastern edge of the village and an associated chapel on the summit of Rossberg. Local roads connect the town with Steindorf, Hausen , which is just to the north, and Bundesstraße 2, which runs 2 km to the north .
history
At the beginning of the 19th century Hofhegnenberg became an independent municipality in the Fürstenfeldbruck district without any other districts. As part of the municipal reorganization of Bavaria , she moved to the Aichach-Friedberg district on July 1, 1972. On May 1, 1978 it was incorporated into Steindorf.
