The Hofkapelle Langensteig is a chapel in Langensteig , a district of Aichstetten in the Ravensburg district in Upper Swabia .

description

The neo-Gothic Vow Chapel is located at 708  m above sea level. NN on the Zeiler Schotterfeld, about three kilometers as the crow flies from the Marienau Charterhouse , where the 7920 road joins the 7924 road. It is located on the private property of an agricultural farm . The family who built the chapel no longer lived on the farm in 2012. The associated parish is part of the Allgäu-Oberschwaben deanery and there belongs to pastoral care unit 21 Aitrachtal.

In 1866, the then court owner had the neo-Gothic chapel built to redeem a vow. He had been successful as a gold prospector in America and on his healthy return home he redeemed his promise by building the chapel.

The chapel has a neo-Gothic roof turret with a bell. Immediately to the east of the chapel is a pond. It is surrounded by older trees. Inside the chapel there are four knee benches and a neo-Gothic altar. The retable contains three wooden sculptures from different eras. The sculpture on the left is a statue of the Sacred Heart , the middle one shows the suffering Savior . The right statue is a replica of the black Madonna of Einsiedeln. To the left of the altar is a Maria Immaculata , to the right a figure of St. Anthony of Padua .
