Hokuto Shimoda ( Japanese 下田 北斗 , Shimoda Hokuto ; born November 7, 1991 in Hiratsuka , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Hokuto Shimoda learned to play football in the university team of Senshū University . He signed his first professional contract with Ventforet Kofu in 2014 . The club from Kofu , a city on Honshū , the main island of Japan , played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . For Kofu he completed 33 first division games. In 2016 he moved to Hiratsuka , where he signed a contract with first division club Shonan Bellmare . After one season he had to start the way to the second division with the club as 17th in the table. A year later he managed with the club as master of the J2 League, the direct promotion to the first division. After promotion, he left Shonan and signed a contract with Kawasaki Frontale . With the club from Kawasaki , a city on the Japanese main island of Honshū, he was Japanese football champion in 2018. In 2019 he won the J. League Cup with Frontale . In the final, they defeated Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo .
