Holger Altmeppen

Holger Altmeppen (born March 4, 1957 in Papenburg ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Passau .

Life

After graduation in Papenburg studied Altmeppen from 1975 jurisprudence at the University of Saarbrücken , the University of Münster and the University of Bonn . In February 1981, he presented the country's judicial examination office Rhineland-Palatinate from the First State Examination. Altmeppen then completed the legal preparatory service in the OLG district of Cologne . He passed the second state examination in law in March 1984. In the same year Altmeppen was admitted to the bar.

In 1986, Altmeppen was awarded a doctorate by examining the commission claims for contract termination at the University of Bonn. iur. PhD. From 1990 Altmeppen was a research assistant of Rolf Knütel at the University of Bonn, where he joined in July 1993 with a study on the disposability of estoppel habilitated. Subsequently, Altmeppen received offers to chairs at the universities of Leipzig , Halle , Greifswald and Passau, from which he accepted the latter.

In the winter semester 1993/94 he became the holder of the chair for civil law, commercial and economic law I at the University of Passau. In 1998, he turned down a call to the chair for civil law and commercial law at the University of Cologne .

Altmeppen was Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Passau from 2005 to 2008 .
