Holovkiwka ( Ukrainian Головківка ; Russian Головковка Golowkowka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Cherkassy Oblast with about 1400 inhabitants (2001).
The first time in 1775 in writing mentioned village is the administrative center of the eponymous district municipality in Rajon Chihirin to which even the settlement Skeliwka ( Скелівка belongs).
Holovkivka is located in the historical region of Cholodnyj Yar - a huge forest area of historical and environmental importance.
In the village there is a church named after Ivan Bohoslow and two smaller chapels.
Atamansky Park
The Atamansky Park (Ukrainian: Атаманський парк ) is a 397 hectare forest area, which gained special importance from 1972 due to important historical events in the history of Ukraine and also during the Second World War. Inside the park there is a fountain called "Jhiwun". According to legend, this is a spiritual place with a beneficial effect on people. A small stone path leads to the well, around which benches have been placed.
Holowkivka Museum
The museum consists of several rooms, each with its own main theme. The first hall tells of the natural conditions of this breathtaking area, while in the other rooms exhibitions of many different and unique relics, as well as historical documents and photos relating to the Scythian era and the time of the Cossacks can be visited. The museum also offers many old Ukrainian everyday objects, clothing, decorations and typical ceramic pottery.
