The Holteberg is a mountain on the Oates coast of East Antarctica . It rises on the eastern edge of a range of hills, 8 kilometers northeast of Thompson Peak ( belonging to the Wilson Hills ) . The name refers to the Holte Castle in the East Westphalian town of Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock .
The German State Committee for the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and for the International Arctic Science Committee (ISAC) accepted the name proposed by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) on 17/18. June 1999.
