Historical map of wooden houses

Holzhäuseln is a hamlet with five properties located about one kilometer south of Hörgertshausen .

history

The place was created around 1690 through the clearing of the so-called fishing wood, ordered by the lord of the court, Count Georg von Seiboldsdorf . Four 1/16 farms belonging to Hofmark Hörgertshausen were settled there, i.e. farms with 10 to 20 days of daily work . At first the place was called Unteres Holz, but soon the name Holzhäuseln, which referred to the development, became established. Since then, the farms have been called by the house names Pfeiff, Schuaster (owned by the Wild family since 1852), Schneider and Süaß and are likely to denote the original occupations of the owners in addition to agriculture.

The origin of the Schaller Hof, which is also on site, is not known exactly, but it is probably older. It was a 1/4 yard that belonged to the Freising Cathedral Monastery until the Fideikommiss Hofmark Hörgertshausen was created in 1683. From 1683 to 1761 the farm belonged to Hofmark Mauern and only finally came to Hofmark Hörgertshausen in 1761.

The center of the place is called "Gmoabuckl" (community hill) and lies exactly between the Kirchenberg, which rises towards Hörgertshausen, and the Wiesenberg on the other side, on which the wilderness of the same name is located. The Gmoabuckl went into private ownership in 2013.

In 2009, the last hop gardens at Schaller were moved in wooden houses, thus ending the centuries-old hop production.

From mid-1980 until the demolition of the old farmhouse, built in 1936, in mid-2015, the Pfeiff was home to a trophy factory and later an automobile workshop.

Population development

The population of wooden houses has developed as follows since 1820:
