history

Until the church is planted

Celtic graves show the settlement in pre-Christian times. Hörgertshausen was first mentioned in a document relatively late, on February 8th in 899 as Herigolteshusa in a gift from Emperor Arnulf of Carinthia to a vassal of Count Luitpold named Cholo. The place name refers to the houses of Herigolt, probably the Luitpoldinger - or fagana-born grandfather of the first archbishop of the diocese of Salzburg Arn von Salzburg . The districts of Peterswahl ( 779 ) and Doidorf ( 892 ) have already been mentioned in a document. In 1081 the possessions of Count Palatine Kuno II von Rott in Hörgertshausen, who died in military service for Emperor Heinrich IV. At the Battle of Höchstädt , were donated to the Rott Monastery . These remained in the possession of the monastery until 1683. In the course of time, in addition to the diocese of Freising, other aristocrats acquired property in Hörgertshausen, including the Lords of Rohrbach (1322), the Wirsbergers (1487), the Taufkircher (1529) and the Seiboldsdorfer (1528) . Since 1549 the place was an open court of the Counts of Seiboldsdorf, who called themselves von Seiboldsdorf and Hörgertshausen until 1606, but then dropped the addition of Hörgertshausen. The Hofmark belonged to the Moosburg Regional Court and the Landshut Rent Office . In 1550, the Hörgertshausen Castle was built by the Seiboldsdorf residents . In 1661 half of the village, which consisted almost exclusively of wooden buildings, was destroyed by a fire and rebuilt in the same year. Until 1818 the von Seiboldsdorf had the land lordship and lower court rights in Hörgertshausen and numerous other places in today's municipality.

From the foundation of the church in 1818

The Hofmark was transformed into a patrimonial court in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818 . The second class patrimonial courts of Hagsdorf , Hörgertshausen, Mauern , Tegernbach and Thulbach , formed in 1818, were merged in 1841 under the von Hofstetten family to form a joint second class patrimonial court under the name of the “Mauern Patrimonial Court”. In 1848 the last remnants of the aristocracy were abolished. Hörgertshausen became an independent political municipality. In 1852 the dilapidated castle was demolished.

Administrative community

Hörgertshausen has been a member of the Mauern administrative community since 1978 , which consists of the four member communities Hörgertshausen, Gammelsdorf, Mauern and Wang.

In 1951 the Einödhof Wiesenberg was reclassified from Markt Nandlstadt to Hörgertshausen.

coat of arms

Official coat of arms description ( blazon )

Hörgertshausen coat of arms
Blazon : "A red double step in silver, covered by a sword placed at an angle to the left in confused colors."

Coat of arms history : The double stage is the heraldic mark of the old Bavarian noble family von Seiboldsdorf, who, as the owner of the Hofmark Hörgertshausen, exercised land lordship and lower court rights in Hörgertshausen and numerous other places in today's municipality from 1549 to 1818. The sword, here an attribute of St. Alban , refers to the previously well-attended pilgrimage in the district of St. Alban, where the well-known Albigan market, confirmed by Elector Max Emanuel, takes place every year. The coat of arms was issued on May 14, 1976 following a resolution by the local council and the approval of the government of Upper Bavaria .
