history
Until the church is planted
Zolling was mentioned as early as 744 in one of the oldest documents in the traditions of the Hochstift Freising , when a certain Moatbert and his wife Totana handed over their property, which they had received from his father Petto, to Bishop Ermbert and the " most blessed, always virginal Mother Mary ”. However, since this property was very extensive, Zolling must have existed long before this first mention. Numerous archaeological finds also indicate that the area is already an ancient settlement area. The naming suggests that the place names with the "-ing" ending were created in the early settlement period of the Bavarians in the 6th century, which are derived from the personal names of the settlers. A man named Zollo is said to have settled with his family in Zolling.
Before the secularization, Zolling belonged as a closed Hofmark to the Hochstift Freising , which was abolished in 1803.
local community
Through the merger of the former Hofmark and the former Lower Bavarian Obmannschaft Siechendorf, the independent political community (Unter-) Zolling was created in 1818 as part of the administrative reforms in Bavaria . The Zolling power plant was designed by Isar-Amperwerke , which was created in 1955 from the merger of Amperwerke AG and Isarwerke AG . Commissioning took place on October 4, 1958.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Anglberg (first mentioned in 1256) was incorporated. On April 1, 1971, Palzing (807) and parts of Wimpasing followed . Oberappersdorf (860) was added on January 1, 1972. Parts of the dissolved municipality of Itzling followed on July 1, 1972. Other historical places in the municipality are Flitzing (936) and Thann (1024).
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 3,171 to 4,886 by 1,715 inhabitants or 54.1%.
