history

Flitzing was first mentioned in a document around the year 900. The village is named after the Counts of Flitzing , a family of ministerials at the Hochstift Freising . The name of the place changed over the course of time from Flicinga (1024), via Flizingen (1078), Vlizzingen (1175) to Flitzing (1538).

The Counts of Flitzing held the closed Hofmark of the place until their extinction in the 17th century , to which the single-layer goods Kratzerimbach and Schwarzberg also belonged. Only one daughter was born to the last Count of Flitzing. In 1632 Maria von Flitzing married Count Franz von Lodron in her second marriage . He had previously acquired the Hofmark in Haag . The couple gave up the manor house in Flitzing and settled in Haag Castle.

In the course of the formation of the community after the second community edict, Flitzing came to the newly formed community of Anglberg in 1818 together with Hofmark Thann . With the dissolution of the municipality of Anglberg, Flitzing came to Zolling on January 1, 1971.
