Economy and Transport

Anglberg is known in the region because of the coal and biomass power plant built in 1958 and because of the Anglberger See, a quarry pond in the Amperniederung that was created from 1975 to 1999 through gravel mining, which has been turned into an attractive leisure destination.

Anglberg was connected to rail traffic via the Hallertau local railway from Langenbach to Enzelhausen . However, the line is only in operation up to the power station.
