Itzling is a village in the Freising district (Upper Bavaria). 66 inhabitants live in the village (as of 2004). The district of Itzling extends over parts of Freising and Zolling and corresponds roughly to the municipality that existed until 1972.

location

Itzling is located on the southern slope of the Ampertal , about one kilometer east of Haindlfing. Untergartelshausen and Tüntenhausen are each about 1.5 km to the south and south-east .

history

The village was first mentioned in 957 under the name Izlingen . The name probably goes back to an Izilo who settled at this point with his followers.

In the 17th century, Itzling was part of the main Pettenbrunn team . In the course of the formation of the community after the second community edict, the village came to the community of Haindlfing in 1818 .

In 1842 the towns of Itzling, Haidberg, Moos , Pettenbrunn and Untergartelshausen broke away from the community of Haindlfing in a unilateral declaration and formed a new community of Itzling. On September 27, 1854, the Freising Regional Court found that the merger had taken place without a higher permit and ordered reintegration. Following massive protests from residents, the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior approved the community's continued existence on February 10, 1855.

Itzling only lost its status of a politically independent municipality as part of the municipal reform. On July 1, 1972, the community was dissolved. The districts of Itzling, Pettenbrunn and Untergartelshausen were incorporated into the city of Freising, while the village of Moos , located in the north on the Amper , became part of the municipality of Zolling . Itzling has since been represented on the city council by a local spokesman , and Peter Esterl has held the office since 1996.
