Ast is part of the municipality of the district town of Freising . Ast is located east of Tuching on the slope edge that forms the edge of the Munich gravel plain. The next place in the east is Marzling . State road 2350 (former B 11 ) runs at the foot of the wooded slope . In the future, the north-east bypass of the city of Freising will pass the place from the north . Construction work has been going on since 2017.

history

Until secularization in Bavaria, Ast lay on the territory of the Hochstift Freising , the sovereignty of the Freising Prince-Bishop. From 1818 to 1904 the place was part of the community of Neustift . On January 1, 1905, the entire community of Neustift was incorporated into the city of Freising.
