history

In 1803, the former monastery in Weihenstephan was converted into a state "model farm", which, however, steadily lost land due to the expansion of the university institutes. In 1926, therefore, the Free State acquired the 50 hectares large Vorwerk Dürnast, which forms the main operation of the state farm since demolition of the outbuildings of the main court at the Weihenstephan Hill 1956th The experimental station for agricultural management at the Technical University of Munich (Weihenstephan State Estate) today has an agricultural area of ​​95.1 ha.
