Hohenbachern is part of the municipality of Freising in Upper Bavaria .
The place is about four kilometers west of the center of Freising. Surrounding places are the district of Vötting and the municipality parts Pellhausen , Gartelshausen , Kleinbachern and the Gut Dürnast .
Hohenbachern became part of the newly formed municipality of Vötting in 1818. When Vötting was incorporated into Freising in 1937, Hohenbachern was incorporated into the community of Sünzhausen together with Gartelshausen and Kleinbachern . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Hohenbachern became a district of the city of Freising on July 1, 1972.
For more than forty years, Johannes Gründel was pastor at the Church of St. Ulrich .
