Sünzhausen is a parish village in the western district of Freising . The place is about six kilometers west of Freising in the tertiary Danube-Isar hill country , which stretches north of the Munich gravel plain on the left bank of the Isar . About 760 people live in the village. Sünzhausen has been part of the large district town of Freising since 1972 .
history
Sünzhausen was first mentioned in the 9th century under Bishop Waldo as Sindeoshusum . The name of the place probably goes back to a Sindeo who settled here with his followers.
In the 18th century Sünzhausen was the seat of a main team in the district court of Kranzberg .
In the course of the formation of the community after the second community edict , the village became a politically independent rural community in 1818. In addition to the main town, it also included the hamlets of Haxthausen , Lageltshausen , Pallhausen and Pellhausen . With the incorporation of Vötting to Freising on April 1, 1937, the former Vötting districts Gartelshausen , Hohenbachern and Kleinbachern came to Sünzhausen. As part of the municipal reform , Sünzhausen lost the status of a politically independent municipality and was incorporated into the city of Freising on July 1, 1972.
Attractions
The townscape is shaped by the parish church of St. Georg , which is located on a ridge on the northern edge of the village. Other architectural monuments of the place are the parish hall , the former school house and the local inn "Kastaniengarten".
