Vötting is a district in the west of the large district town of Freising in Bavaria . In the south / southwest of Vötting, there is the Freisinger Moos .

history

In 1158 the abbot of the Weihenstephan Monastery had a church dedicated to St. Build a church consecrated to James ; it was torn down in the course of secularization in Bavaria in 1803. Today's neo-Gothic St. James Church was built between 1854 and 1857.

Vötting belonged to the Weihenstephan Klosterhofmark until the secularization in 1803.

The municipality of Vötting, founded in 1818 by the Bavarian municipal edict, was incorporated into Freising on April 1, 1937 with its districts Weihenstephan , Dürnast and Plantage . Parts of the community were reclassified to Sünzhausen .

In the next few years the west bypass Freising will be built, which passes under Vötting in a 705 m long tunnel.
