Erembert also Erenbert , Erchinpreht , Erchanpert , Erchinbert or Erchembert († 747 / 748 ) was from 739 to 747/748 second Bishop of Freising ; it is assigned to the Moching family .

The brother of St. Korbinian was abbot of the Benedictine monastery founded by Korbinian "on a mountain near Freising". Korbinian is considered the first bishop of Freising , but it was not until the papal legate Bonifatius carried out a church reform for Bavaria in 739, which resulted in the establishment of the Freising diocese . Freising became a suffragan of Mainz . The diocese comprised the land of the Upper Isar east to the Inn and south to the watershed of the Inn and Isar . With the elevation to Bishop of Freising in 739 Erembert made the Freising Church a cathedral.

Erembert is also named as the tutor of his successor Joseph von Verona .
