Attractions

Archaeological finds

The Bronze Age and Iron Age burial ground of Domarlunden lies to the east on the Lärbro – Hellvi road. The western part is dominated by a ring 30 m in diameter. Domarlunden, the "Richterwald" in the eastern part, is formed by a number of medium-sized, partially damaged ship settlements .

According to legend, Lajkarhajd , directly to the south, is the battlefield on which the Norwegian King Olav the Saint fought against the Gotlanders to convert them to Christianity. The 19 bowls on the sacrificial stone known as the "Sangelstein" are said to be impressions that Olaf left behind. The stone is so named because it sings: it makes a sound when you hit it. A little further south is the rock carving of Hägvide , Gotland's only notable rock carving .

The reconstructed Röse von Kauparve is located north of Domarlunden .

Larbro Church

The church and the castle

The main attraction of the place is the church of Lärbro , which was built around 1200, and its castle . The Kastal, as it is also owned by the church of Gammelgarn , is a square castle tower that was used for defense. Unlike the other churches on the island, the church has an octagonal tower and is partly equipped with architecturally and artistically unique gems.
