Tingstäde is a place ( Tatort ) on the Swedish Baltic Sea island Gotland in the Gotland County and the historic Gotland Province. It is located in Gotland municipality on the shores of Lake Tingstädeträsk . There is a medieval church in the village .

The name of the place is the first time in the 14th century as Tingstedj occupied and contains the altgutnische word thingstedhi, the Thingplace means. In the Middle Ages Gotland was divided into three areas ( Swedish tredingar ); it is assumed that this was the place of the thing for the northern third.
