Ronehamn is a place ( Swedish småort ) in the parish ( Swedish socken ) Rone on the Swedish island of Gotland .
history
The place is on the east coast 4.5 km southeast of the church of Rone , 52 km south of Visby , 36 km south of Roma , 10 km southeast of Hemse , 22 km southwest of Ljugarn and 20 km north of Burgsvik . Ronehamn consists of a small town, a country trade and a fishing place ( Swedish fiskeläge ) with a boat harbor and guest harbor .
In the area there are many cultural monuments in the form of cairn graves from the Bronze Age and so-called Sliprannor or Slipskårestenar ; These are stones that have cut straight slots several decimeters long from earlier times. One of the most famous stone burial mounds ( Swedish röse ) is Uggarde rojr , the third largest Bronze Age burial mound in Scandinavia.
There is a swimming area with a campsite directly south of the port. The Ålarve nature reserve is located further south . North of the harbor lies the fishing site ( swedish fiskeläge ) Hus , with its typical moles of stone and its small fishing huts made of stone and wood, some with Flistak, a characteristic for parts of Gotland, covered with irregular slabs of sandstone roof.
A popular event is the Ronehamnstage ( Swedish Ronehamnsdagen ) at the end of July with a lottery, tip promenade , a game in which you have to answer questions paved in different places in the area, and a bazaar organized by the Red Cross . The Ronehamnscup in football has been held on the second Saturday in July since 2000.
