Kräklingbo is a småort on the Swedish island of Gotland . The place is 33 km southeast of Visby , 17 km southeast of Roma , 30 km south of Slite and 12 km north of Ljugarn . The church of Kräklingbo is in the village .

history

The name was Kreclingabo in the 14th century . It was the name of a farm. The first part contains inge for residents and probably kräkla for dry twig ( Swedish torr gren ) or ( Swedish krok ) for bend. The ending bo stands for hamlet ( Swedish bygd ).

Kräklingbo is in the eastern interior of Gotland. The area of ​​the parish consists of agricultural land in the vicinity of the village, surrounded by woodland. The place Kräklingbo has 80 inhabitants and 35 hectares, the parish has 193 inhabitants and 46.02 km² area, of which 45.9 km² are land.

Archaeological sites

In the parish there are Sliprannor in rocky ground and in blocks. There is a living space and a hällkista from the Stone Age . There are many roasts from the Bronze Age . From the Iron Age, there are 37 grave fields with around 100 graves and 17 kilometers of stone paths ( Swedish stensträng ) and three prehistoric hill castles, of which the Torsburg is the best known.
