Gnisvärd was once Gotland's largest fishing spot . About 40 huts made of stone or wood lie on both sides of a path that runs parallel to the beach. Between the huts there is a drying area for nets ( gistgård in Swedish ). A stone chapel ( Swedish Strandkyrkan ) from 1839 adds to the ancient atmosphere of the location. Together with ten other fishing spots on Gotland, Gnisvärd is viewed as an imperial interest due to its cultural and historical significance .
