Kräklingbo Church

The Church of Kräklingbo ( Swedish Kräklingbo kyrka ) is a country church on the Swedish island of Gotland, consecrated in the 13th century . It belongs to the parish (Swedish församling ) Östergarn in the Diocese of Visby .

location

The church is located in the Småort Kräklingbo in the east of Gotland on road 146 from Slite to Ljugarn , 33 km southeast of Visby , 39 km south of Visby, 17 km east of Roma and 12 km north of Ljugarn.

Church building

The oldest parts of the church are from a church from the beginning of the 13th century. The church was expanded at the beginning of the 14th century. The two large portals on the south side, which were created by Neoikonicus , have also been added . The church is richly decorated with reliefs.

On the north wall of the choir there are frescoes from the beginning of the 13th century.

Furnishing

The altar is a Gotland work from the beginning of the 16th century. The triumphal cross is from the end of the 13th century. The sandstone font is from 1670.
