Enghausen is a former municipality and since 1978 part of the municipality of Mauern , Freising district, Bavaria.

history

The church was mentioned in a document as early as 808 as "ecclesia eginonis". The church in Enghausen was rebuilt around 1500, and the so-called Enghausen Cross was probably taken over from the collegiate church in Moosburg . The church has belonged to the parish of St. Johannes Baptist Priel since 1699 , previously it was incorporated into the collegiate church in Moosburg .

Enghausen was the seat of a main team at the time of the Electorate of Bavaria . 1818 was with the Bavarian Gemeindeedikt the municipality Enghausen in district court Moosburg .

The municipality of Enghausen comprised the following places:

  • Dreifaltern, hamlet
  • Enghausen, Kirchdorf
  • Geiting, wasteland
  • Backlash, wasteland
  • Nussberg, wasteland
  • Oberndorf, wasteland
  • Oberpriel, hamlet
  • Peterswahl , Kirchdorf
  • Priel , parish village
  • Front lash, wasteland

The bombing of Enghausen by a bomber damaged by shelling on February 27, 1945 resulted in the destruction of many house roofs and the killing of a woman from the fragmentation of the bombs.

On May 1, 1978, the Enghausen community was dissolved and the Enghausen community became part of the Mauern community.

Attractions

The Enghausen Cross is considered the oldest monumental, slightly larger than life crucifix and therefore the oldest monumental cross at all. It is located in the subsidiary church of the Holy Cross Finding , which is somewhat hidden between the courtyards of the small village.
